Indoor Pistol Range

SAFETY ORIENTATION REQUIRED


To use the indoor range, a member must attend an indoor range safety orientation with a member of the indoor range committee.  An electronic key FOB for access will be issued upon completion. Click the button below to schedule the orientation.

Indoor Range Rules

  1. No magnum calibers or deep penetrating ammo of any kind are allowed. Examples of magnum calibers include but are not limited to: 357Mag, 44Mag, 460Rowland, 460S&W, 500S&W, 50AE. Examples of deep penetrating ammo include but are not limited to: Xtreme Penetrator, Buffalo Bore +P+ Penetrator, Federal Hydra-Shok DEEP, any heavy, hard cast flat nose projectile. If you need to practice with this type of ammo, use the outdoor pistol range.
  2. Only Rim-fire rifles chambered in .22short, .22long, and .22long rifle are allowed.
  3. Air-rifles shooting sub-sonic lead pellets are allowed.
  4. Absolutely no draw-firing allowed (drawing from holster and firing).
  5. All shooting shall be done from within the shooting stations. 
  6. Only paper targets are to be used.
  7. Targets are only to be hung in the provided, hanging, steel frames.
  8. All targets must be positioned at least 20ft (Yellow Line) downrange from the shooting stations.
  9. Hearing and eye protection are required at all times while using the indoor range.
  10. The exhaust fan must be on while shooting in the indoor range.
  11. If going down range, ALL firearms must be tabled, unloaded, with actions open.
  12. Before going down range, the red (cold-range) light must be turned on, (switch on back wall).
  13. Anyone using the range must have attended the indoor range orientation.
  14. Anyone using the range MUST sign-in using the Log Book, located on the table inside of the indoor range.
  15. Any guest using the indoor range is the sole responsibility of the senior member whom they are accompanying. Any disciplinary actions taken against the misconduct of a guest, will fall upon the senior member whom they are accompanying.

Range is open 24x7 unless otherwise posted in Announcements.


If you are the last member in the range, please remember to turn off the furnace, exhaust fan, lights, and secure the clubhouse when you leave.


There is a $5.00 fee charged for the replacement of a lost/stolen electronic key FOB.




Anyone found in violation of these rules may be subject to disciplinary actions by the Board of Directors, in accordance to the Swift River Sportsman's Club bylaws:


  • Article XI Expulsion, Removal, or Suspension
  • Section A: Expulsion
