Swift River Pistol Team

Western Mass Pistol League

Our team is part of the Western Mass. Pistol League that includes six other teams. We shoot an NRA course of fire. All matches will be “POSTAL” matches, which simply means that we shoot at our indoor pistol range and the scores will be sent to the league via email for final scoring. We are doing this so the teams will not have to travel to other clubs during the winter weather. Matches are on Tuesday evenings at around 6:30PM until about 8pm. Most shooters are home before 9PM. We usually have coffee and munchies before and after the shoot. An end of season banquet for all Western MA shooters and guests is held in April. See the Club Calendar for the date.

FEES:

2025 LEAGUE DUES: $25

TARGETS: $10 (covers all targets for all matches)

It all makes for a nice night at the club and a lot of fun. So come on out and give it a try, we'd love to have you on our team! We can always use more shooters. If you are interested or want more information, click the button below.

  • Slow fire: 10 rounds in ten minutes.
  • Timed fire: Two strings of 5 rounds in 20 seconds with a reload between strings.
  • Rapid fire: Two strings of 5 rounds in 10 seconds with a reload between strings.

Hand gun type and caliber

Most pistols used are .22 cal. Semi-autos, although revolvers can still be used. It's good to have at least two magazines for your pistol to help things run smoother.

All shooting is done only on the command of a range safety officer. This is not open shooting, the range safety officer runs the range during league matches.
